Jim Jarmusch's Paterson

Paterson is a film by Jim Jarmusch about a bus driver who has devoted himself to poetry. It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on May 16, 2016.

The film shows seven days from the life of Paterson, a bus driver in the town of Paterson in New Jersey. He lives in a small house with his wife Laura and their English bulldog Marvin. While Paterson is a good-natured, quiet and taciturn man, Laura seems restless most of the time. She is constantly chattering, talking down to Paterson, and always has new plans for her professional future. One day she wants to open a cupcake bakery, the next she wants to become a musician. She incessantly redecorates the house, painting walls, doors and curtains or making dresses in her favorite colors of black and white. While Laura lives out her creative streak in decorating the apartment, Paterson devotes himself to poetry.
The film won over 96 percent of the critics at Rotten Tomatoes, making it one of the best-rated films of 2016 there.
