Into The Wild

The dream of getting out,
a life of absolute freedom.

With his novel "Into the Wilderness," which traces the true story of the young adventurer Christopher McCandless, bestselling author Jon Krakauer moved an entire generation. Oscar winner Sean Penn has adapted the book into a film starring the outstanding Emile Hirsch.

22-year-old Christopher McCandless has just graduated from college with honors. A promising future lies ahead of him. Actually. Because much to the chagrin of his parents, he doesn't care about studying law at the prestigious Harvard University. Instead, Christopher donates his entire life savings, twenty-four thousand dollars after all, cuts up credit cards and Social Security cards, and sets out to reinvent his life for himself. He ditches his car, burns the last of his cash, and hitchhikes across North America, toward Alaska, into the wilderness without a dime in his pocket. On the way, he meets other dropouts, experiences human closeness, makes friends. But he is drawn further, until the adventure comes to an abrupt end in Alaska...
