This act inadvertently transports him to the Land of the Dead, where Emily, a deceased bride, claims him as her husband. Victor desperately tries to return to the Land of the Living to be with Victoria. However, he must navigate the challenges of the Land of the Dead, including Emily's desire for companionship and rivalry with Victoria's villainous, living parents. Ultimately, the story explores themes of love, death, and the acceptance of one's true self. Corpse Bride is a dark and whimsical tale with beautiful animation, memorable characters, and a hauntingly charming atmosphere.
