The Edo Kobayashi Weekend
It all started with a warm “Irasshaimase”, which means “Welcome” in Japanese.
The Edo Kobayashi weekend was with no doubt one of our favorite events and not even the rain stopped us from having a marvelous time.
Saturday night was all about The Fried Club & Vynils – a retro fun concept by Tokyo Music Bar, the Hi-Fi Analog Audio Cocktail Bar from Mexico City. An asia-tropical dinner, in which we all enjoyed the outstanding food, special sake drinks created in-house by our Diego and the great musical selection.
Once Toshi – the head of all Edo Kobayashi Kitchens around the continents – had a moment to breathe and sat down with us to enjoy his own creations, he shared with us his life and working philosophy, the Edo Kobayashi’s trajectory and some cute memories of his childhood. He told us about the importance of doing things with love, to think and act with the heart and about smiling in a kind way, which are some of the essential aspects of “Omotenashi” the Japanese Hospitality Philosophy.
Sunday´s vibe differed in a way of having an opulent Free Style Sushi Brunch, with fresh and delicious sushis, nigiris, edamames, shrimps – just to name a few of them – as well as some disco music curated by our resident DJ Off Silence.
Our night and day happenings were filled with smiles, laughter and happy stomachs. We were all able to live a true and authentic Japanese experience, getting closer to a culture that stands out for its rigorous attention to detail, and its love for food and drinking taken to its maximum expression.
We loved with every corner of our heart, having you great people with us and cannot wait for all the next great plans we will make real hand in hand!
