RoOf x Kane William Sorrells
Kane William Sorrells' ethos around food is that it should be made with respect to its source; his dishes celebrate nature and the experience we have in that moment. He takes pride in the natural beauty of each ingredient and makes an effort to share his conscious-eating style with those who take the time to enjoy his food.
We collaborated with Kane to produce our brand new RoOf menu: small eats that celebrate Mexican ingredients, influenced by his travels. Paired with our signature RoOf cocktails, sunset just got sensational.
Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Kane grew up surrounded by the hospitality industry. With a bartender father and a passion for creativity, he carved his own path and made it his mission to become a chef. The journey began at the age of thirteen, when he cooked in a professional kitchen for the first time, assisting a friend of his fathers during a culinary event. Years later, Kane was working for several high end restaurants all over New York, including the Michelin starred Blanca, Brooklyn.
The next stop in his career was Los Angeles, where he met his now business partner and creator of NOMA restaurant, Mads Refslund. Kane and Mads began travelling the world together, discovering food from its origins and tradition. He put his life into storage and found Mexico as home for four months, which is when he became part of our family here at Distrito Panamera.
